Rob begins by telling us that Thrivent Financial has been around for 120 years and operates as a Not-For-Profit, which enables them to “Give Back” to the community through charities. Robert states that “everything we have belongs to God. We are called to manage it.” And as an advisor with Pathfinder Financial Group in Jensen Beach, that is exactly what Robert does — helping his clients manage the money that God has given them. For many of the services Thrivent provides, the common bond is Christianity, and because of their non-profit status there is money available to give back to the community.

Rob is on the committee for the Festival of Giving 2026 (formerly the Festival of Trees), held at the Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast, November 13–21. Charities may sign up to take part before August 1st. In 2025, 50 local Treasure Coast charities were involved — an impactful way for small charities to gain recognition and receive financial support. The Festival of Giving is a free community event.
Finally, Rob spoke of the danger of the many scams stealing money from people. AI itself is not evil, but it can be used for evil, and it has given scammers powerful new tools — even churches are being scammed. Some red flags to watch for:
- Being contacted out of the blue by phone, email, or text.
- A scammer fighting you when you say “I need to call someone first.”
- Requests to pay with Bitcoin, gift/bank cards, or cash.
- Asking to meet you in a parking lot, etc.
