Rabbi Zamstein joins us again to update us on the upcoming Jewish holidays. He begins with a minor holiday celebrated in Israel on May 14–15, Yom Yerushalayim — Jerusalem Day, marking the 59th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem during the 1967 Six-Day War. In Israel there would be parades, festivities, ceremonies, and prayers.
Shavuot is the main holiday, beginning at nightfall Thursday, May 21 and concluding at nightfall Saturday, May 23, marked by the end of counting the Omer. This two-day holiday celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai and is observed by studying Torah and praying through the night, waving the wheat stalk at the wheat harvest, and reading the Book of Ruth. Shavuot is a celebration of God’s Word — and it coincides with Pentecost, when Peter proclaimed the Messiahship of Yeshua and 3,000 were saved.
Because Kerem El rents space from the Life Center, they will celebrate Shavuot on Shabbat, Saturday, May 23rd, and all are invited to share this special time. Kerem El meets at 10:30 AM at 2900 Jenkins Rd., Fort Pierce — services blend traditional liturgy and praise & worship, in both Hebrew and English. Jonathan encourages the Christian community to visit and learn about Messianic worship. The Rabbi also shared his ministry at Rock Road Chapel and at the Okeechobee Correctional Center, and closed by praying the Aaronic Blessing.
As always, you can listen to this interview in its entirety on the WCNO Archives / On Demand or by downloading the app.
