Jerome Rhyant has been active in ministry in this area for a very long time. He founded the Love Center in Fort Pierce in 1995, and more recently launched a new program, the Workforce Discipleship Center — faith-based support for working homeless men and women, helping break the cycle of working homelessness. Jerome noted that, per capita, St. Lucie County leads the entire country in homelessness, according to a TC Palm article last fall. Jerome is also a director on the board of the Treasure Coast Christian Alliance alongside Jonathan, who serves as Vice President. Together they spoke of the major National Day of Prayer event at the MidFlorida Event Center. As 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
